I'm right there with you. I think I'm still there, even though "this really happened" 4 months ago for us!

I'm so glad to read that you are slowing down with work - I think this will make planning a lot easier, giving you more time to prepare for the Beats.

I am so excited for you guys Cristy!!! Eeeeekkkkk!!!!!

P.S. In terms of skipping the nursery, I'm right there with you. We did the same thing ... even though we're not planning on moving, having a nursery for us is totally pointless right now. We have shelves and storage space for all of J's stuff (holy crap, there is A LOT), but even at 4 months, she's still in our room (she sleeps in her pack and play beside our bed). It's just easier for us and the added expense of a nursery is not worth it for us right now. Holy smokes that does not sound pleasant... with two babies in your tummy, there is frankly no room for poop! Hope you're doing OK now.

Very cool that Grey got to ultrasound you! I'm sure that is totally against the code of practice or whatever, but that just renders the med student all the more awesome in my opinion. :)

So glad you've reached a stage where you're able to plan and prepare without totally freaking out. I'm kind of in the same position, and the more items I buy, the less tentative/weird/paranoid I become about acquiring baby things. Kind of like exposure therapy, I guess -- just keep shopping! I can't tell you how happy I am to read this post--full of anticipation and hope, especially after listening to your journey through the bitter infertiles podcast. Basically it all comes d...It's a good question. Basically it all comes down to Baby B. If Baby A is head-down, then we will move forward with a vaginal delivery. Then Baby B becomes the focus. If Baby B is also head-down, then it's a normal vaginal delivery. If, though, Baby B is breach and we have an epidural in, they will attempt a breach extraction (96% success rate), which requires the delivering physician to insert their hand inside the uterus to manual remove them. If that fails, they can up the epidermal and proceed with a standard c-section. If there is no epidural, an emergency c-section (completely with general anesthesia) will be performed. Seeing as I would greatly prefer to be awake during the delivery and because emergency c-sections tend to be harder to recover from, the epidural is the best option for us.Cristyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04317873211902543387noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4129722175911979282.post-89300116190554347392013-06-28T13:58:08.392-07:002013-06-28T13:58:08.392-07:00Love this post! I have so much admiration for the equanimity that you seem to have in approaching life as the mother of twins. I don't want to say that I couldn't do it, because I suppose I certainly would if that was my situation, but I feel overwhelmed just trying to imagine it! I think your point about cultivating help is a huge one - I hope you find it in the right places and that it comes with understanding and immense support.

I am super curious about the epidural being basically required. If one wanted it anyway, sure, more power to you, but if one really didn't want it, what is the justification for such a strong recommendation?
