Spotting

The title speaks for itself. Black blood showed up in the Crinone 3 days ago. Same as last time. What is different is that it hasn't tapered off.

So I called my clinic and talked with Nurse E. She reassured me that this was normal. Many women spot during the first trimester. To not be concerned unless it increased to a mini-period and/or became red.

Then this afternoon hit. And in all honesty, how does one classify "red?" This is no means full flow, but it's much more than it was this morning. Add in the fact I now have cramps (also appearing this afternoon) and I'm officially a basket case.

Somehow I need to hold it together.

God I'm spooked. So spooked.  I don't want to go through another miscarriage.

UPDATE: Got ahold of Dr. Optimism. Beta#3 ordered. She order the test for STAT processing and promised me that she'd call with the results tonight. Hating my body all the more at the moment.

UPDATE #2: Beta #3 = 2998. Dr. Optimism's orders are to stop freaking out and to spend the night thinking positive thoughts. Everyone is allowed to yell at me now.

  6. Very, very scary Cristy. I spotted quite a bit and it was red blood. Bright red. It terrified me also. I really hope everything works out ok.
Also just for reference... my betas were rather high like yours... my first one was 330 and second was 770. Mine was a singleton but know with the high numbers yours could go either way.

Thinking of you during this scary time.

    *Big Hugs*

  7. Beyond hoping this is all ok! Even f everything is fine, I'm pissed you are experienced this worry.

Hang in there, and as impossible as it sounds, see what happens next. Hugging you from here!!

  10. You can do this, we are all here for you. Like the nurse said, many people spot this early. My friend did and her spotting is now 9 months old. Try not to get too spooked although I'm sure it feels impossible. Sending all my love and positive thoughts your way!

  11. Oh, how scary scary! Hang in there. Do you practice yoga? I just had a class and it was amazing how it helped me leave my anxiety and focus on positivity. Your beta is fantastic!

  12. We won't let this happen. Your embaby is going to be okay. I know where your head is and I know how difficult it is to feel positive. Just do whatever you can. Nothing you do or don't do will change the outcome hon.
Just breath and call me if you need to. Okay? I had massive bleeding at 12 weeks, like I thought the babies had died, and they didn't. That bleed was not the end. Yours isn't either.
I'm thinking of you and hope you are staying relaxed. Take tomorrow off if you can.

  17. Oh my dear goodness you scared me. Probably not half as scared as you were but jeez. Don't feel at ALL bad about freaking out, are you kidding? After what you've been through? That's 100% your right. But I'm just so glad for that strong beta number. Like, freakishly strong - wow, C! From 800-something to 3,000 in how long was it? As others have said, nothing you can do will change it so put all your energy behind staying positive! I'm sending major STICK and GROW vibes your way to those embabies... err, "embaby." ;)

  18. Not going to yell at you. All spotting/bleeding is scary. But it is a good reminder that while it can be a warning sign, it can also be something else. Still, deep breaths. Sending a hug.

  19. Your cervix is probably irritated from the meds, or you might have a SCH, both of them aren't very dangerous. Don't panic. Blood is always scary, but it is very common.

  23. Breathe! Crinone is a funny thing and can cause lots of yuckyness and spotting. I hope that your Dr is right and everything is good. Certainly doesn't help put you in a good headspace. You are entitled to feel scared! I would be too.

  24. I'm so glad that your numbers are increasing. Put your feet up, grab a good book or pop in a movie.

  25. First, belated congratulations! I've been on vacation with a self-imposed internet embargo. Second, glad you were able to get another beta and it is moving in the right direction! Bleeding is scary. The uncertainty of all of this is scary. It was a long, hard road to get here. Worrying will not change the outcome, so as hard as it is, enjoy each day as you have it though.

  26. I think it was just baby's way of saying hi! He/she hasn't figured out how to communicate with you without freaking you out yet. You're still learning about each other! ;) So wonderful and such a relief about your beta. I understand that you will always be on edge until certain milestones are reached. Please know that I remain so hopeful for you!

  27. GREAT beta! No yelling (well I guess I did yell, but it was coming from a place of excitement). With a beta like that will you schedule an ultrasound soon?
