Admitted

Tapping this out on an iPhone, so this will be short.

Been admitted to the hospital for monitoring due to preeclampsia. Luckily we've caught it early, but we've also been warned that the Beats may be delivered via C-section sooner than later. Needless to say, I'm terrified. The Beats need longer to grow and develop. After all the hell from the past three years, the universe owes me this one.

Please keep us in your thoughts. Somehow we need to get through this.

  2. Ugh! I am happy that your doctors have kept such a close eye on you and babies. I know they will do everything possible for a safe entrance into this world. I am thinking of you and hoping that the preeclampsia can stay at bay long enough to give babies some more time.

  3. Keeping you in my thoughts. Hoping that they can stay in a little longer before delivery. I'm so sorry this happened to you after everything else you've gone through.

  4. Cristy, if there is anything I can do to help, let me know! Are you about 31 weeks now? Hopefully, you can just hang out for another month or so, but if not, there is no reason the beats won't do really well. I really like the Preemie Parenting board on babycenter. It's very active and has tons of good support. Lots of mom's ask questions there while on bedrest too.

I imagine they will have a neonatologist come and talk to you anyway, but I would also suggest to go and see the NICU if they will let you. I never got to because I wasn't allowed out and about, but it would have been nice to know what it looked like. Did you know that they start preparing for your babies the moment you are admitted? Even if you stay there for months, they will get updates on how you are doing and there will be beds ready and waiting. That made me feel good to know.

Hopefully you'll be out of there and relaxing at home, but if not, it'll be ok too. Again, if you'd like to ask me anything, please do! babymakingmerrygoround@gmail.com

  9. Oh Cristy! This really sucks! What's up with this pre-eclampsia? Emily in our board was just admitted too. I know it stinks to be stuck there, but I honestly think it's best for the Beats. They will monitor you and make the best decision. My SIL was admitted too but she was able to leave the hospital after a day or two. She was monitored by her obgyn in the following weeks but eventually she made it to 37 weeks when they induced her. I sincerely hope that this is just a little scare and you get to go home. But you know that it's all about what you need to do for the Beats. Many hugs coming your way!

  10. Oh my. Not the way you wanted this to go, obviously, and I'm sorry it's taken this turn. Will certainly be thinking of you and the Beats. I hope everything is manageable and that you get to keep them on the inside for as long as possible. May it be only a blip and you'll be back home resting in (relative) comfort, and soon!

  14. Hugs to you!! I know how much being in the hospital stinks!! I was there almost 4 weeks before my girls made their early arrival! Just take it easy and know they are in the best place!! We were in the NICU for quit sometime and most babies born after 30 weeks had a pretty smooth NICU stay! Hopefully you can hold out as long as possible!

  15. Oh, it sucks to read this news!! I was so hoping things would go more smoothly. But never fear, you are in good hands, and if positive thoughts translate into reality then all that we are sending you should keep the Beats in there nice and tight a while longer. Sending hugs!

  35. Hope you are all ok! I was diagnosed with preeclampsia at 31+5 but managed to go to 35w. The twins were born totally healthy, many others in my local twin club delivered much earlier (from 28-37 weeks) and while some have had long hospital stays all the babies are doing really really well now.
