#MicroblogMondays: Jump

Not sure what #MicroblogMondays is?Read the inaugural post which explains the idea and how you can participate too.

Last Tuesday's decision to move has set off a chain reaction. Following Grey formally accepting his new position, we both informed employers of the news (long post on this later, but for now trust me when I say this hasn't been easy). In addition, we've met with realtors and property managers, making the decision to rent our condo. Grey is also traveling soon to hunt for a new place to live and we are making arrangements to have our car shipped and our stuff moved/donated/sold.

All of this has to happen before the end of August.

Needless to say, there's a lot of stress and uncertainty at the moment. Finding information and making decisions has become priority one, all while wrapping things up at work. There's also a lot of emotions that have surfaced as we've been preparing to say farewell to a city that has been our home for the last 14 years.

Lots to do; not a lot of time. But we're ready to jump.

  2. That's such a short timeline. It will be intense, but your transition should be over as the Fall settles in. I'll be thinking of you!

  3. It's such a great thing that he got the job, but it comes with so much stress. Here's to an easy move and an even easier transition.

  5. When leaving a job, I always say the most important thing to do is write the to-do list. Then someone else can worry about it when you leave, and nothing will fall through the cracks, and you've done your duty, but you don't have to sweat buckets to do it yourself. Wishing you luck for the move - they're another one of life's major stresses.

  6. Good luck with the move! I'm in the middle of a move myself and can appreciate the excitement and stress involved. Hope things go as smoothly as possible and that you all enjoy your new home and town. Have fun exploring and making new memories!

  8. Oh, congratulations! That is a big jump, but it's scary and exciting all at once. I wish you a smooth move and all good things ahead! A short timeline is stressful, but maybe it will kind of rip the bandaid off all at once, no space for anything but plowing through all that has to be done and then BOOM! It will be done. (Simplified of course, because that period of time is intense, but maybe better than dragged out?)

  9. Belated congratulations!! I didn't realize you've been living there so long... not a lot of time to wrap up loose ends, but I am sure it will all be worth it in the end. Hang in there!
