#MicroblogMondays: Preparing

Not sure what #MicroblogMondays is? Read the inaugural post which explains the idea and how you can participate too.

Grey found a rental: a 3 bedroom 1.5 bath townhouse-style end unit that has recently been updated and looks sound. Cue sign of relief.

Follow by both Grey and I springing into action. Today we've arranged transporting the car, arranged for moving pods, established new utilities, gave notice to close existing utilities, bought plane tickets, set up vet appointments (fun fact: Jaxson and Daisy need no documentation to fly domestically, but we want sedatives even though last time they did NOT work at all), dropped off old vet records, mailed signed lease, updated mailing address for USPS and contact the school district for IEP transfer and enrolling both Beats into Kindergarten.

I also had a phone interview #3 and Nor'easter #4 is scheduled to hit at 1 am.

In short we're preparing, whether the universe likes it or not.

  1. Sounds like things are are lining up for the big move! It's great to get big things checked off the list. I'm crossing my fingers that Nor'easter #4 isn't too bad for the east coast.

  4. This is all so exciting! Still, I do hope the day is coming where you can put your feet up, sip a hot chocolate (or beverage of choice) and say “I am done!” (At least until tomorrow). The pace you’ve been going just sounds intense.

  5. You have covered a lot of ground! I'm a little envious of your organization skills.

Hope all is well for you with this latest round of wacky weather. And your interview.

  6. Congrats on finding the rental and having that sigh of relief! Jeezum, you have just not caught a break with the weather. May that be the last Nor'Easter. You are unstoppable with getting all the paperwork done, good for you! I hope your interview went well.

  7. Wow. It must really feel real now, getting all that done. Impressive! And fingers crossed for the visitors.

It's so weird to have to reverse your Nor-Easter and translate into NZ talk which is a Sou'wester.

  8. Woo-hoo! So much progress, that's great. I hope your interviews lead you to a good match. I'm really glad you found a rental. I recall the 'not having a place to live' panic was the worst part of our cross-country move. I hope it helps relieve a bit of stress having a known landing place.
