In dreams

Last night I had my first pregnancy dream. I dreamt I was going into labor and admitted myself to the hospital. I was confused, as I didn't know I was pregnant, yet when I looked down I was able to see a perfectly round belly and, when I pressed it, feel movement from within. Though I panicked about not being ready (couldn't find Grey, hadn't prepared for this new extension of our family, etc), for the first time I felt a sense of joy that I haven't felt in so long. To believe that this nightmare had finally come to an end. Finally, we were more than a family of two.

And then I woke up.

  1. Oh cristy, cant imagine how hard it was to wake up from that dream...hopefully its a sign that there is a baby out there for you, closer than you think. Thinking of you...

  2. Sigh. I have had those. Not for a long, long time though. In a way though, I appreciated them. It was so nice to feel that feeling, even if just for a second. Sometimes it's nice to remember what it's all for.

  3. I hate when I get those type of dreams. They are such a tease. Hoping that some day you do have a baby to hold and keep.

  4. I had those kinds of dreams a lot before and after we lost M & A. It's hard to pull out of it. I will take it as a sign of some sort that there is a baby coming to you at some point. I'm sorry you had to wake up.

  6. I absolutey hate those dreams. When I wake up I think back to the dream and how happy I was, if only for a short time.

  7. I both love and hate those dreams. They're so wonderful while you're dreaming then, but utterly devastating when you wake up.

  8. It's hard to be haunted even in a seemingly safe place like slumber.

  9. Those dreams are so cruel. I had one recently and it's still with me- the brief happiness of being pregnant, then the bitter dose of reality that I'm not.

  11. Waking up seems like such a cruel thing after a dream like that. I hope it really is a sign that your family will be expanding soon, however that happens.
