Knitting has always been a refuge; a gateway to meditation. Like anything that is good for me, I struggle to pick up the needles until well after the point I needed to, but the healing they bring is always immeasurable.
Knitting through the valleys and cliffs of graduate school. Knitting through the trauma, heartache and despair of infertility. And now knitting again through this transition.
Two hats and a set of fingerless gloves down. Martha's hat to go and these gloves for me in progress. Plans for other projects to come.
What a gorgeous pattern! I used to knit, too. Really basic stuff like leg warmers and scarves. You've made me think I maybe I should get those needles out of storage.
ReplyDeleteThinking of you this holiday season.
I still haven't gotten around to doing much knitting of late. I love the knitting pattern you are doing and the color is just gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely! I used to knit too, way back before we got cats. Once we did, it was too hard to keep the balls of wool away from them. lol Looking at your knitting, I think it would be quite nice to try again. Hmmmm ... I've just had an idea of what I could try.
ReplyDeleteGood for you. I crocheted a doll poncho and headband the other day: that's as much as I can get to these days. I used to crochet and knit for myself but for some reason I rarely want to wear the finished product so I kind of gave up on it. Hope you enjoy your gloves!
ReplyDeleteYou are an excellent knitter. It's a great hobby to have. I can crochet, but I never learned how to knit. Sniff.
ReplyDeleteFun! I've always wanted to learn how to do it. I love that color!
ReplyDeleteI learned the basics of knitting & crocheting when I was a kid, but have completely forgotten everything. I have many friends, though, who will attest to the therapeutic value of needlecrafts!
ReplyDeleteOh, beautiful! The pattern and the color. You have some real skill there...I can basically do a square and that's it. That meditative quality of knitting that you love is the part I can't deal with... I'd rather be reading than be left with my thoughts for hours on end. Your work is just spectacular though!
ReplyDeleteI love that color! And I love the knitting. I'm still very basic and haven't attempted much more than scarves, wash clothes and other square-shapes. :D Wishing you peace and calm.
