Battling anxiety

First off, thank you all for your comments and well-wishes. This community continues to leave me in awe from all the love and support I receive. I'd beyond grateful.

Originally I was planning on posting about rituals. Instead, I'd asking for feedback.

After the scare on Tuesday, I managed to calm down due to the spotting and cramping decreasing. In general, everything was mild and I was reassured by the beta.

Today, though, the cramps have picked up in intensity. It's not a lot of blood, but following these last couple of waves, it's looking more "red."

I'm fighting anxiety as best I can, reasoning that this is can all be normal, that the bleeding is not a normal flow. And that, even if I am miscarrying, there's nothing I really can do to prevent it.

So, here's my question: has anyone had any experience with Crinone? I've used it for all my IUIs and IVF cycles, but this is the first time I've been on it where I've dealt with cramping. I've been told that spotting while on it isn't uncommon, but the cramps are new for me. Thoughts please?

In the meantime, I'm focusing on breathing and calmly monitoring.

  1. I am sorry I do not have any advice as I have never been on Crinone! I just wanted to send you some positive thoughts! I am going through similar anxiety right now so I understand what you are going through! I hope that everything you are experiencing is very normal!! Best wishes!

  2. I wasn't on crinone until I was 8 weeks pregnant--I had PIO shots up to then. I did have some irritation from it, but not cramping.

    (((hugs)))

  3. maybe you should switch over to the oil shots? Even though crinone doesn't hurt like shots, I hates it. I did experience irritation and bleeding.. Sorry.I dont have any with cramping. Could its be due to early pregnancy?

  4. Christy, I had bad cramping (different circumstances, as you know) and totally freaked out until I googled it and found out it's very common and perfectly normal. It lasted about two weeks. So maybe it's not related to the crinone? Thinking of you and hope the spotting leaves you alone soon!

  5. I'm on crinone - I don't think it has caused any cramping. However, it is typical to have cramping throughout the early stages of pregnancy as the embryo implants and your uterus stretches. I have had it on and off throughout this journey. It could just be normal cramping and be nothing associated with the crinone. Be careful when you are inserting it - if you go too far, you could be aggravating your cervix thereby causing bleeding?!?! Just wanted to give you a BIG HUG!! Hoping all goes well!.

  6. No experience with Crinone, sorry. I am thinking of you daily though and hoping that this whole thing clears up and you are left with a smooth pregnancy till the end.
I wish we could just have a bloodless, crapless time of it. It's so unfair to make us freak out after all the IF crap.

  7. I've never been on crinone so I can't help on that front. Would it help at all to call the doctor and just explain your completely understandable fears and ask for another beta? Sometimes if you lay it all out for them, they're willing to accommodate the additional blood tests/scans.

  8. Just sending you big hugs, since I haven't used crinone. I am hoping the cramping is just your uterus accommodating the little bean!

  10. My FET did not end well, as you know, but I was on Crinone. I did have cramping with IVF#1, which actually was due to constipation. It felt like mild AF cramps, and once I got things moving again, so to speak, all was better. With FET#1, the cramping was much more severe to the point where I didn't want to leave the couch, and constant for 3 days. The bleeding was also pretty heavy, like a light period but definitely not spotting. It was constant. It was pretty obvious to me that it wasn't normal and my beta dropped to 100 after only two days of bleeding, so definitely a different situation than yours. Hopefully the cramping is unrelated to the bleeding! When is your ultrasound? Soon I hope, for your peace of mind!

  11. I experienced irritation and spotting/bleeding when I was using progesterone suppositories. I didn't have cramping, but I also wasn't pregnant, so I'm afraid I'm no help to you there. I hope the cramping is just normal pregnancy cramping.

Sending you lots of good thoughts...

  14. I used endometrin and did not have any bleeding or cramping with it. In your shoes I might want the dreaded pio shit instead and another beta or early ultrasound for reassurance. Big hugs))

  16. Cristy, I'm so sorry you have to deal with this extra worry! I keep hearing that cramping in the first tri is completely normal and not to get alarmed unless the cramps are severe, you're doubled over, etc. Sending you a big hug.

  17. I've been on Crinone for ages. Never any cramping, but I've also never been pregnant. Well, at least not really. Let your RE know what's going on and how concerned you are. You won't be able to rest easy until you get the reassurance from her. And if that reassurance needs to happen every few days, so be it.
